Below is a BlackBerry Messenger Chat which I had yesterday (31st December, 2014) with my friend, a former bank Executive Management staff, who is a Buharist Muslim Northerner (referred to hereafter as "MBMNF" - My Buharist Muslim Northerner Friend). I consider myself a GEJite (or a Jonathanian as some Buharists call me thinking it is derogatory. LOL! ) who is also a Christian Southerner. So "MBMNF" is not a slur as some mischievous persons may think:
MBMNF:
Eghes, why do you hate this man so much amidst the impunity that this administration has imposed on Nigeria. Haba, my brother where is our 'Fear of God' to atleast speak the truth. I like you personally but I am afraid that your opinion of Buhari is very biased. What values do we want to uphold as a people? Which of these presidential candidates are best at upholding such values for us as a country? You know that the bane of Nigeria today is no other issue than corruption. So much so that the people are being made to believe that it should be the way of life. No Eghes, life must be better than this for your people and my people. We deserve better than this impunity, I beg!!!
Egheomhanre Eyieyien:
LOL! I don't hate GMB but he will never be Nigeria's President. He is incompetent, vision-less, dour and uninspiring. I am shocked when enlightened folks like you think he can bring "change". Have you not heard from no less a person than Chief John Oyegun, the APC National Chairman, that Buhari will not probe and prosecute past corrupt leaders? How can he when Bola Tinubu is his benefactor and he is using Rivers State funds to finance his campaign.
MBNMF:
Eghes, na wao! Of course most of the stories like the River state funding are political propaganda. I am surprised that you will believe such stories. Anyway why should I be... you are PDP!!! LOL*ROTFL*
Egheomhanre Eyieyien:
Haba! Are you saying you are unaware that Gov. Rotimi Amaechi bankrolled GMB in the hope of being his choice as VI?!
And before you think I am "Islamophobic" or "anti-north" as some Muslim Northerners on Facebook have unfairly accused me, please know that I have been advocating that Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo be President in 2019....After President Goodluck Jonathan's second term.
=d
MBMNF:
Haba, my brother! It is PDP propaganda aginst one of their 'former' own. Eghes, the truth is that there is no basis of comparison between Jonathan and Buhari, politics aside. The rot in our country is too much. Amidst plenty, there is suffering everywhere. You need to know somebody somewhere for people to get what is there legitimate benefits. See education, healthcare, transportation, roads etc everything is decaying. Jonathan may not have created the problem but the deterioration has been phenomenal in the last four just because the current leadership of our country has made corruption a way of life and sadly too, they want Nigerians to believe so. It doesn't have to be Buhari. It could be anybody who has the capacity to instl change. A person with courage, passion to stamp out corruption. Somebody honest enough that we can trust when he tells us about the state of affairs of our country. We don't trust what our leaders say anymore. No, we shouldn't live this way. Imagine the insurgency in some parts of the country, the incessant hostage taking, the endless massacre of men, the chibok girls and women, etc Haba, Eghes, this government has failed woefully! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Egheomhanre Eyieyien:
You are not being fair to President Jonathan at all. What did Yar'adua achieve in 3 years apart from the Amnesty he gave Niger Deltan militants which stopped their insurgency? What did Obasanjo achieve in 8 years even with our huge oil windfall? President Jonathan has fared better than both Yar'adua and Obasanjo. He has repaired the major federal interstate roads including the Sagamu-Benin Road. And he is fixing Abuja-Lokoja Road, Lagos-Ibadan Road and many others.
President Jonathan has revived agriculture, railways and his power sector reforms are on course.
President Jonathan has allowed democracy to thrive unlike Obasanjo such that his party even lost elections in Osun, Edo and Anambra States.
He does not assassinate his opponents. Even seditious irritants like Nasir El Rufai who ran away on self-exile during the tenure of Yar'adua has had a field day abusing the President at every opportunity on Twitter and Facebook because he is sure no one will harass him. Imagine if Buhari were President: El Rufai would have been tried and jailed for treason!
President Jonathan is not perfect; but he is 1000% better than Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. So.......#BuhariWillNeverBePresident
=d
MBMNF:
Well I do not disagree that he has done some of these projects mentioned during a period when crude was trading at an average of $110/b. He could have done much more than he has done. Eghes you are my brother. Let's agree to disagree on this issue. Let's hope for the best to emerge for Nigeria in 2015! Thank you for your opinion. Best wishes always!
Egheomhanre Eyieyien:
OK oh. I know no Buharist will ever see all the good Jonathan has done so far. It is well sir. =d
MBMNF:
My bro thanks sincerely for the engagement.
Egheomhanre Eyieyien:
I wish you and all yours a truly God-Blessed and Glorious 2015 in Jesus' Name. Amen!

MBMNF:
Our best wishes to your family for a prosperous 2015.
Egheomhanre Eyieyien:
Thanks.
